Finally Did Another One!

Since my first, and last post, a lot has occurred. But before I go into detail, Grandpa and I want to welcome back Alexa to the good ol' US of A. She faithfully served her "mission" in Africa with the Peace Corp for 2 years. We are so proud of her! A little bird told me she met a great young man there. We hope to hear more about him!

We celebrated the annual Corn Festival by going to the parade and passing out water bottles advertising Timmy's run for La Habra City Council. Timmy even rode in the parade. The corn was yummy, as it has been since I first moved to the area in 1961. We bid good-bye to Jeff and Lauren, which was sad for us all. We sure miss our little girls. We celebrated birthdays with Elizabeth and Victoria -- what beautiful great-granddaughters.

It was off to Utah again for Gordon's 55th reunion of Jordan High. He was part of the committee and had all sorts of duties to perform. He was a cheer leader, and actually had his original megaphone to lead the yell and school song. We also went up to Logan to see Chris and Rachel at their new digs. Our little Prius actually held Chris's stuff, our stuff, and a bicycle for Chris---all inside the car. We had a great visit with the Harper's in Orem, and then on to St. George to spend the night with the Renoufs in their beautiful new home--we even had our own wing! The end of a beautiful summer.

We're In the Loop!!!

Well it's finally happened! Nathan created a blog for us while we were at Tricia and Eric's for Gordon's family reunion and my 75th birthday (the downhill slide). We visited with Archie and Lois at their wonderful home on the 25th. As usual, Lois and Marianne hit the home decorating stores running, while Archie and Gordon went to the antique car show and lunched at The Garden Restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We then went with Tricia and children to their ward campout in the Provo Canyon. Despite the injuries from horseshoes, Gordon tied in the competition. Also, Marianne led a round of The Very Unfortunate Man. A good day for us.
Marianne's birthday on the 26th started with breakfast in bed prepared by Tricia and Emily. We lunched at Mimi's Cafe with the whole Harper clan. It was then off to Gordon's family reunion held in Draper Park. It started out great, and ended in the middle of a huge thunderstorm. Most all of the family/extended family were present. Another good day.
It's now Sunday evening after a wonderful church service with Nathan serving sacrament and Eric teaching Gospel Doctrine. This has been a wonderful vacation for us.
WE HAVE NOW JOINED THE WORLD OF BLOGGING!!!!!!! Please join with us.
